The PTO helps helps our school purchase technology, programs and materials that are not in their budget. 

How it's done...

Teachers, families and local businesses work together to accomplish these goals by:

 

  • Eating out on Spirit Nights (Restaurant nights)
  • Buying Spirit Gear (click HERE to purchase)
  • Donating through our Take Stock Program (click HERE to donate or read below)
  • Shopping at certain local and national retailers

 

 

Take Stock

 

A few years ago, our school community voted to ask families to give an annual (optional) donation of $100 or $150 per family in order to eliminate product-based fundraising by our students.  Take Stock donations help MTE directly!

 

All of the money given to Take Stock is used to fund teacher acquisition requests.  These line items tie directly to each other in our budget.  Last year, Take Stock dollars funded items such as computer software programs like IXL, new PE & art equipment, and other items used in the classroom to benefit our kids.  The PTO also helped to complete items requested for a STEAM proposal and purchased stools and stand-up desks for classrooms.

Ronald McDonald House

 

Mission Trail Elementary is proud to collect pop tabs for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City (RMHCKC). This fun community-service project raises funds for three Ronald McDonald houses in the metro.

 

These houses provide an affordable, comfortable place for families to stay while their children receive medical care at Children’s Mercy.  Pop tabs can be collected from soft drinks, canned foods and tennis ball containers.

 

Turn in your family’s pop tabs anytime throughout the school year. Please seal them in a zip lock bag and ask your child to place it in the bin outside the library. Collecting pop tabs is an inexpensive way for Mission Trail to extend its philanthropic efforts even further into our community. Even the small things add up to make a big difference this holiday season.

MTE receives a small donation amount from Amazon Smile every quarter based upon purchases from Amazon Smile that have MTE PTO as their designated charity.

Mabel's Labels
